The Full Scoop
Baci Bracelet Ceremony
Baci (pronounced bossy) ceremonies are a meaningful and important tradition practiced in Southest Asia. Andrea first participated in a baci ceremony after completing her initial First Descents (FD) healing adventure, a surf camp. FD provides young cancer patients and survivors opportunities to travel the world and live an identity outside of having cancer. Andrea was introduced to FD by friend, Jada, who never got to go on her own FD adventure.
A Baci is a bracelet given to anyone in a village who is facing adversity, challenge or hardship.
When given the Baci, it is a symbol of protection and strength.
We hope when you look down at your Baci, you will remember Andrea's strong, loving, and adventurous spirit and that you will be strengthened by all she gave the world.
